It’s the stores that put the "face" on Kohl’s, and provide an enjoyable shopping experience for all our customers. As a company, we're constantly working to expand our territory and allow more shoppers across the country to experience Kohl’s.

Every day, Store Planning works to sustain Kohl’s unparalleled growth by acquiring new store locations and repositioning our existing stores to maximize our sales and market share.

Interior Planning

This team develops the store layout for all our new stores and remodeled locations, as well as updating existing stores with our newest programs. Interior Planning creates floorplans to identify what fixtures we'll need to best merchandise our products, as well as where to locate them once they're delivered to the stores.

Fixture Purchasing

This team designs, develops and purchases the fixtures for all new and existing stores. The Fixture team evaluates new vendors and makes long-range forecasts to ensure that all fixture programs roll out on-time without any issues.

Site Development

These folks are the critical link between the site selection and acquisition efforts of Kohl’s Real Estate team, and the architectural design and construction activities of Store Planning. Site Development maps out each new store's site plan and manages preparing the sitework construction drawings and securing the governmental permits necessary to proceed.

Real Estate

Working closely with Store Planning is Kohl’s Real Estate group. In Real Estate, the team uses the latest demographics and technology to evaluate a potential new Kohl's location. This figuring allows Kohl’s to determine the proposed store's annual sales and growth rate, establishing important benchmarks for our new locations.

These Associates are overflowing with knowledge about the real estate values, site availabilities and retail shopping patterns in their respective territories. Real Estate chooses every new Kohl’s location, negotiates the deals, obtains corporate approval to proceed, and then coordinates the development and installation of Kohl’s in a town near you!
