Job Title:
Compensation Analyst
Position Objective:
Assist in the implementation and administration of Kohl's compensation programs. Collects, analyzes and prepares written reports to summarize internal and external compensation data in support of competitive benchmarking. This position provides analysis and support for base pay, incentive programs, and performance appraisal process for all Kohl's associates.
Primary Responsibilities
Advise others on policies, procedures, and regulations
· Provides recommendations on pay decisions and interpretation of compensation policies/guidelines.
· Partner with management teams to discuss new hire offers, promotions and transfers.
· Educate business partners on compensation practices and regulatory requirements.
· Ensures compensation pay plans are in compliance with federal/state wage and hour regulations.
· Partners with management teams to ensure all positions have updated job descriptions.
· Partner with HR Managers to ensure communication to the Business Partners is consistent and timely.
Conduct research/benchmarking/analysis
· Perform industry and local market surveys in support of competitive benchmarking efforts.
· Collects and analyzes external data and prepares reports that summarize market and internal compensation data.
· Evaluate new positions to determine the level and grade within the organization.
· Assist in the administration of the annual performance review process and analyzes data to ensure compliance with budgetary and performance distribution guidelines.
· Recommend salary/range adjustments to management teams.
Conduct reporting/auditing
· Provide calibration and ad hoc reports to business partners.
· Create Principal Binder Reports.
· Audit existing and new positions to ensure compliance with regulations, including FLSA, and Kohl's policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications:
· Understanding of Compensation principles including job evaluation, documentation, performance appraisals, and benchmarking.
· Excellent analytical and statistical aptitude.
· Detail orientated with problem solving skills.
· Ability to maintain large quantities of highly sensitive and confidential data.
· Effective communication skills.
· Ability to work as part of a team and interact effectively with others.
Preferred Qualifications:
· 3+ years of Compensation and/or Human Resources experience.
· Strong project management skills and ability to work effectively with multiple priorities.
· Ability to negotiate with different levels in the organization.
· Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PeopleSoft HRIS system.
· Compensation Certified Professional.
· Bachelors degree in related field.
