Job Title:
Business Analyst - Merchandise Systems
Position Summary:
The Business Analyst working under the general direction of IS Management focuses on capturing and modeling business requirements. They work on moderate to large projects with business partners to study their business processes and to determine which should be automated and/or changed to help business drive down cost, or align the process better with defined corporate objectives.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assists with the initial determination of the feasibility of requests and ensures that user requirements are thoroughly and accurately documented in accordance with standard techniques utilized by the IS department.
- Works with user representative(s) to identify acceptance test requirements. May assist in the development and presentation of system training materials.
- Works with user representative(s) to set realistic response time and/or deliverable expectations.
- Performs necessary follow up with business partners to ensure new or modified system functionality is performing satisfactorily and requirements have been met.
- Understands development tools and system architecture sufficiently to communicate technical issues to business partners.
- Helps manage the scope and change control of project in coordination with IS management and business partners.
- Works with Project Leader and/or Project Manager to participate in a post-project audit to ensure that the process is improved for the next project.
- Tracks and reports individual progress, takes appropriate action to complete deliverable time, and works with IS Management to develop seasonal resource plans for project staffing and support.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Multiple years of IS work-related experience or retail business experience.
- Displays initiative and self-motivation.
- ERM andc Caliber experience
