Job Title:
Business Analyst - Logistics Order Management
Position Summary:
This position focuses on capturing and modeling business requirements. The Senior Business Analyst works with senior business partners to study their business processes to determine which should be automated and/or changed to help drive business, drive down cost, or align the process better with defined corporate objectives.
Primary Responsibilities:
· Assists with the initial determination of the feasibility of requests for IS resources and ensures that user requirements are thoroughly and accurately documented in accordance with standard techniques utilized by the IS department.
· Ensures that appropriate business issues are resolved at the appropriate times during the life cycle of the systems development process.
· Works with users to identify acceptance test requirements and ensures appropriate systems training is performed; works with user to set realistic response time and/or deliverable expectations; works with user and help desk to resolve user questions.
· Performs necessary follow up with business partners to ensure new or modified system functionality is performing satisfactorily and that business requirement have been met.
· Helps manage the scope and change control of project to ensure project milestones are not impacted without approval from IS Management and project sponsors; mentors others on managing scope and change control.
· Facilitates communication among team members through project team meetings.
· Works with Project Leader to facilitate a post-project audit.
· Tracks and reports individual project progress, status and time Project Leader and/or Project Manager.
· Assists Project Manager and Project Leader in preparing weekly status reports to IS Management.
· Interacts with team members, IS personnel, the user community and others on an ongoing basis to ensure accurate identification and delivery of business requirements.
· Works with business partners to resolve issues and assists business partners in conducting initial system roll-out and user training.
· Attends meetings, seminars, and/or classes as required to maintain and develop both technical and retail skills.
· Trains and mentors new Business Analysts.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Multiple years of IS related work experience and retail business experience.
· Displays initiative and self-motivation.
· Ability to find methods that work best based on the project and the audience.
