Job Title:
Enterprise Architect
Position Summary:
This position creates and maintains Enterprise Architecture policies; manages, aligns and monitors business processes, information, software, hardware and projects with the overall IS strategy and best practices.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Identifies, records and develops IS architecture strategy, roadmap that enable alignment of the business systems with the business areas.
- Works in a self directed manner to research Kohl’s information and technology needs as specified by Enterprise Architecture Plan.
- Works with representatives from business units, information systems teams, and technology suppliers design and optimize retail systems and processes.
- Participates in the identification of mission-enabling systems and solutions.
- Creates strategy and enables major business programs which will focus on defining retail systems capability roadmap.
- Partners with IS management, application development teams and operations teams to support enterprise architecture strategy and the execution of the enterprise architecture direction.
- Participates in the assessment of IS architecture capability maturity, health check and performance. Researches enterprises' needs and develops changes to the Enterprise Architecture Strategy.
- Participates/leads a Centers of Excellence or Participates on the IS Review Board.
- Researches new technologies, frameworks, technologies, etc. Analyzes the applicability of technology and assess the feasibility of incorporating this into the Kohl's environment.
- Maintains technical, information, process and business reference models and standards.
- Support and manages the enterprise architecture discipline and participates in the IS strategic processes. Develops mechanisms to communicate and to evangelize enterprise architecture policies and roadmap with target teams to ensure buy-in.
- Creates and evaluate Return on Investment and Total Cost of Ownership for a product or project
Preferred Qualifications:
- 10 years+ in systems, technology or IT development field. 5 years+ of career spent on systems design and architecture or equivalent consulting experience. Experience architecting and implementing large business systems; retail area preferred.
- 2+ years project management or 3+ years as project lead and formal methodology experience.
- Strong work ethic, good communication skills.
- Ability to lead and train others.
- Ability to translate technical information into business language and concepts.
- Ability to translate business concepts into technical terms.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Science (or related field) or equivalent proven experience.
