Peace of mind on-site, within sight.

The Kohl’s Child Development Center mission is to enrich each child’s life by providing a safe, healthy, positive, and nurturing environment.

Kohl’s Child Development Center is an on-site center available to Associates of the Kohl’s Corporate Office. The center holds 208 children and has 17 classrooms for children ages 6 weeks to 6 years old. As Kohl’s has expanded, so have we — our second site opened May of ’07 located at the Kohl’s Associate Center. It has a capacity of 154 children with 12 classrooms offering care 6 weeks to 6 years old, as well.

We are licensed from the State of Wisconsin, adopting criteria and standards set forth by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). Each classroom is developmentally appropriate for the specific age group it holds. We create environments conducive to learning through play and creativity. By working side-by-side with the parents we build a relationship to foster early learning and preparation to last a lifetime!

Philosophy

Kohl’s Child Development Center is a non-profit organization that serves children ages 6 weeks to 6 years old. Kohl’s philosophy supports its mission statement with the following standards:

  • The Center and curriculum are designed to stimulate growth through a balance of guided and self-directed activities.
  • Learning through play is viewed as the cornerstone of the curriculum.
  • Parents, teachers and staff work together to make child care a positive learning experience.
  • Parents are the most significant adults in a child’s life. We strive to create mutual respect between parents and teachers-a partnership for the benefit of the child. We encourage communication between parents and center staff. Our doors are open to parents at all times.
  • We establish consistent and appropriate limits to help children function in their world.
  • We pride ourselves on having a qualified staff, which provide an educational and developmentally appropriate program in a nurturing environment. It is our goal to work with families to help children reach their fullest potential.
